Rob is an experienced public policy practitioner and project manager with experience in both public and private sectors. He has particular expertise and interest in regulatory policy projects, such as reviewing, developing and implementing legislation.

Rob enjoys projects that involve assessing whether government intervention is necessary to achieve policy goals – and if so, then determining the most appropriate form of intervention (regulatory or non-regulatory). Rob’s key areas of interest are public health, building control and housing, health and safety, border security, social and community development, injury prevention, and professional/occupational regulation.

Rob regularly undertakes international development assistance projects, which require his legal and strategic policy skills. He has successfully delivered projects in New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific, Asia, and Africa.
