We undertake evaluation and research work in Australia, New Zealand, and the wider Asia-Pacific region. Our work spans health, social services, international development, education, transport, workplace health and safety, Indigenous peoples’ development, justice, environment, and local government sectors.
Our experience ranges from completing rapid reviews of stand-alone programs or projects, specific data collection or analysis tasks, through to multi-year evaluations of complex and complicated policies and suites of programs. We are experts in a full range of qualitative and quantitative techniques and tools.
Monitoring
We work with clients and communities to help them monitor and measure their performance. We help clients design monitoring approaches that ensure the right questions are being asked, and that the right information is collected. We can assist with:
- Designing monitoring systems and approaches
- Identifying performance indicators
- Preparing monitoring frameworks.
Evaluation
We work with clients to design and deliver evaluations that add value to organisations, programs, policies and initiatives. While we focus on providing clients with useful insights, we don’t apply a cookie cutter approach. Instead we design evaluations that meet clients’ specific needs and context. By designing and delivering bespoke evaluation, we can assist with:
- Improving existing or ongoing programs, policies and initiatives
- Understanding how well programs, policies and initiatives have been delivered
- Assessing how programs, policies and initiatives have worked and what has been achieved
- Understanding the impacts of programs, policies and initiatives.
Research
We work with clients to ensure that programs, activities and policies are built upon sound evidence and accurate models of human behaviour. To do this, we design and deliver fit for purpose research – quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods – that helps clients understand and develop solutions to complex problems. We can assist with:
- Primary research design and delivery (including experimental, quasi-experimental, and non-experimental research designs) using a range of research methods (including surveys, questionnaires, interviews, focus groups)
- Secondary research design and delivery, including literature reviews and environmental scans.
Learning
We work with clients to design and deliver monitoring, evaluation and research systems, that help clients learn and improve from past experiences. We are experts in designing systems and approaches which incorporate feedback loops so that emerging evidence or changing circumstances are reflected in implementation. We can assist with:
- Designing strategies, initiatives, and programs with built in feedback loops
- Facilitating and supporting co-design processes, from design right through to prototyping, piloting, and scaling stages
- Embedding evaluation and research services across the innovation cycle, and helping clients learn from innovations in real-time.
