Mathea has more than 20 years’ experience designing and conducting program and policy evaluations in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. She is a recognised expert in evaluation, and is a past recipient of the Australasian Evaluation Society’s ‘Best Evaluation Study’ award She has been a senior manager, principal analyst and evaluation consultant in various public sector and private organisations.

Mathea has led or contributed to evaluation projects in a range of public sector contexts, including a multi-year evaluation of changes to disability support, a multi-year evaluation of primary healthcare, process and outcome evaluations of housing, children in care, employment, international development and income support initiatives.

With a passion for theory-informed practice, Mathea has developed an evaluation-specific approach for identifying defensible criteria.
