Erika is a demographer and social epidemiologist with extensive experience in the health and social services sector. Her experience bridges several health settings including primary health care, rural and regional health, community-controlled organisations, addiction services and social enterprises. She has led several projects addressing the health needs of vulnerable populations.
Erika is experienced in designing and leading strategic reviews, research projects, and evidence synthesis to inform policy development and reform. This includes the development and evaluation of health system indicators; mapping, modelling, and simulating health systems; the evaluation and synthesis of health measures and interventions; the conceptualisation, development and operationalisation of health and service measures; economic evaluation and the analysis of large administrative and service data sets. Erika’s work has driven policy changes in Australia and overseas.
Erika has provided services to a range of clients, including the Department Health, NSW Health, Department of Social Services, Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation, Department of Defence, Queensland Department of Education, Western Queensland Primary Health Network, as well as government-based enterprises and commercial clients. Internationally, this includes the New Zealand Department of Health, Gambling Research Exchange Ontario and the United Kingdom Gambling Commission. She also contributes to research translation through media interviews and community events such as Pint of Science.
