Himanshu is a trained physiotherapist and a highly skilled researcher, specialising in complex public health issues. His experience spans chronic diseases, alcohol, gambling, mental health, sports and physical activity. He has recently held the position of Research Fellow at the Alcohol and Other Drugs and Gambling research team at Menzies School of Health Research in the Northern Territory. He also holds an Honorary Senior Lecturer academic status within the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University NT division. His research is primarily focused on improving health outcomes of vulnerable communities, including Culturally and Linguistically Diverse peoples and Indigenous Australians.
Himanshu has contributed to multiple nationally and-internationally funded research studies in Australia, India, and the United Kingdom. Himanshu has had his research published in peer-reviewed journals, presented findings at conferences, been the recipient of research awards, and serves as a reviewer and editor for multiple international public health peer-reviewed journals.
